When an incident of animal abuse rocked the Olympics, others quickly came forward with their own horror stories of events that feature animals. It is possible to have events without battering the animals involved — but these incidents ‘lift the lid’ on how prevalent animal abuse — even at the hands of those considered to be at least competent if not perfect in their respective ‘techniques’.

We, of course, believe it absolutely is time for the Olympics to forego events that feature animals if for no other reason than that animal abuse has become the ‘standard’ by which trainers frequently revert in an effort to obtain the best performance possible from an animal that may be frightened, confused or otherwise outside their element when in front of a large (and often boisterous) group of people.
Originally, 100 bulls were sacrificed as part of the Pagan ceremonies performed throughout the Olympics. Violence, too, was commonplace and one sport was a form of fighting that involved virtually NO rules, resulting in horrific injuries — intentionally.
